Comment of the Day: $1,000 Is a Lot of Money to a Lot of People

Today Katharine Shilcutt covered the walk-out over at Ruggles due to alleged non-payment of tips. She talked to chef and owner Bruce Molzan, who tried to explain the situation.
His explanation didn't do it for commenter Chuck:
"...There's not a single person that's owed over $1,000."I know a few people for whom being short $1,000 on pay would not be much of a hardship. None of them work as servers in the restaurant industry. The fact that a chef could say something like that with a straight face is mind-blowing, and also very telling.
Indeed.
