Comment of the Day: Sweet, Sweet Manischewitz

Here on Eating Our Words, the commenters absolutely make the blog, and our Comment of the Day honors the best of the bunch.

Every day, we read you guys and pick the commenter, or commenters, who made us laugh, cry, salivate over something delicious, or think about things in a new way.

In return, we offer them a virtual White Russian.

Last Friday Jeremy Parzen reminisced about Manischewitz Concord Grape Wine, which brought him memories of celebrating the Jewish New Year during his childhood. Although all signs would point to connoisseur Parzen not liking the sugar-sweetened wine, he of course adores it.

As does commenter Carrie:

You knew you were a grownup when you could drink Manischewitz instead of grape juice after services! The stuff's pretty vile tasting now, but brings back good memories.

Cheers, you two!
