Today Katharine Shilcutt wrote an interesting story about a patron who tweeted while eating at a restaurant and got kicked out. Who was wrong, and who was right? Readers were pretty split, but one commenter, Ralphy, didn't seem to care much:

Darn!! Late to the show again. But my popcorn's just coming out of the micro and the wine's chilling. Got my easy chair...Carry on now. Perform! Dance you fools!

Well, it's not nice to call us fools, Ralphy. But we're glad you're enjoying yourself.

I'm surprised that there was not a secondary debate waged about this Philistine having the gall to eat microwave popcorn.  Where was your righteous indignation when you needed it foodies?

First off, welcome back!

Second, I've seen a recipe for microwave popcorn that uses a plain brown bag and regular popcorn.  Would that be more satisfactory than the crap with fake butter flavor?

Microwave popcorn, pffft....he clearly doesn't know what he's doing. I only eat popcorn created from locally sourced organic kernels, air-popped with air imported from the top of Mount Everest, topped with a light drizzle of a pork belly fat and truffle oil reduction.
