Pay attention, because your weekends for the rest of the month will be quickly filled up with fantastic food events a-plenty.

Remember this time last week when we were discussing food trends to watch for in Houston? Seth Siegel-Gardner and Terrence Gallivan are back with another pop-up restaurant project, just in the nick of time. The Pilot Light series of dinners will be held at Revival Market on June 18, June 25 and July 2, featuring adventurously modern cuisine doled out five courses at at time. But that's not the only thing they're doling out: Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 11, starting at 4 p.m. at Revival Market. There are only 60 seats for these dinners, with a limit of four tickets per person -- cash or check only. The tickets could easily sell out by the 15th person in line, so prepare to beg, borrow or steal to get your hands on some.
Across town, people will be lining up at another market entirely: Epicurean Express is finally having its grand opening party this weekend, starting this afternoon and running through tomorrow. The new grocery store in EaDo from Anthony Wegmann, who also owns nearby Lucky's Pub and Cork Soakers, will be offering samples both days and asking for customers' feedback on which items the store should stock going forward. The store's normal hours will run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
This weekend is also the Houston Beer Festival, which we spotlighted briefly yesterday over initial (and seemingly unfounded) concerns about its charity work. Those $130 VIP passes are all sold out, but you can still purchase general admission tickets for $25. That $25 is good for 10 tasting tickets; additional tasting tickets can be purchased at the event.
Next weekend, head out to Georgia's Farm to Market at I-10 and Dairy Ashford for the Sustainable Living Festival held on Saturday, June 18. Sponsored by the Market itself and Houston Green Scene, the one-day event is billed as an "eco-education," featuring lectures, local foods and demonstrations of how to live greener at home. Food trucks Green Seed Vegan, Oh My! Pocket Pies and Snowdog Ice Cream will be on-site in the parking lot, while popular farmers' market vendors will be inside along with live music from groups such as the Sideshow Tramps.
The weekend after that, the long-awaited Hats Off to Hospitality gala benefiting Linda Salinas will take over Haven on Sunday, June 26 starting at 5 p.m. The gala will feature nine of Houston's top chefs, three of its best bartenders and a slew of amazing auction items, including the very expensive and difficult-to-obtain Modernist Cuisine (yes, the full set) and dinner for six at Benjy's. Tickets start at $75 a person, and although all of the proceeds will go to benefit Linda Salinas, a local bartender who was badly injured in a scooter accident, Hats Off stated in its press release that "the initial inspiration for the event has since grown into collective action toward a greater cause - creating a call to action that brings attention to the millions of Americans living without health insurance."
