Sampler Plate: This Week in Food Blogs

Saveur: First and most importantly, congratulations to two of our regularly featured blogs -- Drink Dogma, from Anvil's Bobby Heugel, and Homesick Texan -- for being recognized by Saveur as two of the best food blogs in the country. Drink Dogma won out over such strong candidates as Jeffrey Morganthaler's blog to win Best Cocktail Blog in 2011, while Homesick Texan won Best Regional Cuisine Blog for the year. Well-deserved all around.

Erik Eats: Whether or not you attended the Haute Wheels food truck festival this past weekend -- and whether or not you enjoyed it -- Erik Eats has some fun video interviews with the food trucks' chefs and owners that are very much worth a watch.

Houston Entree: There's something about summer settling in -- hot weather and trips to the beach, perhaps -- that makes you want to eat light and eat seafood. Ruthie Johnson Miller has a roundup of the three best light dishes in Houston right now -- two of them with seafood -- for the pescatarian in all of us.

H-Town Chow Down: In the same vein as one of Ruthie's monthly "where to eat now" posts for CultureMap, Albert Nurick has a feature on where to eat now in an often overlooked area of town: The Woodlands.
