Chicken-fried rabbit at Bootsie's.
Bootsie's Heritage Cafe is the little restaurant in Tomball that's turning out food to set the rest of Houston topsy-turvy.

When I took my first vacation since starting at the Houston Press as the food critic, EOW blogger Jason Bargas took it on for this week's cafe review.

Go ahead and fill up that gas tank; as you'll see in Bargas's review, the restaurant is worth the drive to Tomball.

For more photos from the tidy, foraged-plant-filled kitchen (and to see how that chicken-fried rabbit was made), check out our slideshow.

How dare you take a vacation when there is important food work to be done!!! It's a travesty. It's a sham. It's a mockery. It's a travishamockery!!!
