I can't recommend Floyd's. The 5 lb platter is a 3 lb platter, so you really pay about $10/lb.

Looking for a great place for crawfish that are not so hot that they burn my lips off and can taste nothing but heat.  Tasty crawfish.  I have been to many places, most are good, one place I loved closed down, Ocagiens (sp) in pearland .

i tried crawfish from this top 10 list and nothing can compare with JO-LYNN.S at BEECHNUT and WILCREST......although it will be the most expensive at 7.99 / pound....it will be the MOST DELICIOUS......try it you.ll like it !!! ------RENE of COOK ROAD

I've found good crawfish at Hank's on Hwy 6 and clay Rd..  I like em HOT!  Get the New Orleans Spicy with Garlic and you won't be disappointed.  $6.95 lb.

Turns out Concert Pub has raised its price since this article.  It is now $5.99 a pound or $19.95 for 4 pounds.  Still a good deal though.

Sam's Boat hands down has the best crawfish in Houston. It ain't even close.

Best crawfish in TX/LA: Jolynn's Crawfish. Unique flavoring and spice, juicier and tastier than anything in Chinatown. Puts Boiling Crab, Hanks, and all the other poser joints to shame. Try it once and you'll be hooked, guaranteed. And you can thank me later. 

I'm deeply dissapointed that the author didn't include what should be the #1 place for crawfish. Bayou City Seafood and Pasta!!! 4730 Richmond. They always deliver on the very best crawfish year after year. They started out the year with there usual happy hour 4.99 but raised it to 5.99 this year. The staff is great and service is also excellent. And the plus is pasta that is the best in town.own. 

Hard to say who has the best crawfish in Houston???Coaches has to be one of the best deals in town though for $3 a pound on sundays and tuesdays is there a better deal in town??Th crawfish are decent and cooked with mushrooms potato and corn are $1 for 3 pieces....located off I-10 and barker cypress

Repka's is overrated, btw, just not what it used to be. Who wants to drive out to Pattison anyways? I have found the best crawfish this season at Vida Loca in katy. There is all the End Zone sports bar out 1093 (Westheimer), past West Oaks. On Sunday they serve them and they are pretty darn good. Reasonable price too, $4 for a to go sized box. Eat until they are gone. You can bring kids but keep in mind in can get quite ghetto, so it's best to leave them with a sitter. We also like Hank's on Highway 6 and Good Ole Boys..

I usually ate crawfish in the Houston area was at Crazy Cajun on Nasa Rd 1, but it's not there anymore (I don't live down there anymore, so I don't know how long it's been gone, or if maybe it just moved). I did try some at a little stand looking joint near Ellington AFB, but they were very overcooked. And way back when, the Turtle Club would occasionally have crawfish, but I haven't been there in over a decade, so no idea if they still do, but it was decent.

I'd be really mad if I was served crawfish boiled in unseasoned water. Now that I've been being frugal for many years, I rarely eat out, so I learned to make my own crawfish boil. And it's heavily seasoned of course.

Does anyone here know of where to get New Orleans style crawfish? I am from New Orleans (moved here 5 years ago) and NONE of these places on this list do crawfish right. The idea that there is seasoning on the OUTSIDE of the crawfish is silly. In Louisiana, the seasonings are always in the water and a perfect pot needs to outside seasoning nor do they need seasoning on the table.

That being said, doe anyone here know where to get real Louisiana style crawfish in Houston?

Seasoned Water? I'm from the Chesapeake bay area of Maryland, and up there we steam crawdads, crabs, shrimp, etc. in beer and a couple tablespoons of vinegar. All critters get liberally covered with Old Bay seasoning, and by God they're tasty...I can't imagine taking good seafood and just boiling it in water...what a waste!

I have had crawfish at almost each and every one of those that you mention, but honsetly, the BEST are at The Hideaway on Dunvale!!!!

I go to Sam's Boat alot since its by myHouse but Im surprised not to see them on the list.

Calliope's has it down pat.. dunno why it's number 10 but they season it like home in new orleans and you don't have to add any seasoning on top nor will you see any additional seasoning on the crawfish. You can really suck the heads and get the flavors. not only that, they're HUGE now... sitting outside with my beer and crawdads

i dont think i've ever run across a crawfish boil where the water wasn't seasoned... is that really a frequent occurrence? i have a hard time believing that.

Some of the best, which I think you know, are out in Chinatown. Especially, Hong Kong market where hundreds of smart eaters gather for cheap, but incredibly seasoned crawfish are served in what's basically a food court.

Had Seafood Shoppe for lunch today. $6.99 / pound. Excellent.

The best crawfish I've had in Texas is in Crosby: Crawfish Shack (http://www.crawfishshack.com/). I know many people from Downtown who regularly make the trek out during the season. Everything else they serve is great, too, and it's BYOB.

Ragin Cajun is AWFUL!!! And the last time I went they were smaller than the friggin' crackers! I asked if I could exchange the small ones and was told "you win some you lose some!"

Bayou City is the REAL DEAL, as id Mardi Gras Grill. I will have to try Calliope's, as they do have real authentic New Orleans po-boys.

I hate "seasoning on top" that's just lame, it's gets on your hands and not in the meat. Season the water, people!! Season the water!

I believe Calliope's also seasons the water (that's what the owner told me, I look forward to trying them). I'm from New Orleans and will never understand why Houstonians put up with non-seasoned water in their crawfish boils, spice in the boil is the only way to give tail meat flavor. And forget about sucking the head of any crawfish boiled in plain water (shiver).

Seafood Shoppe is a glaring omission. Top 3 in the city IMO.
