Toy Story Macaroni & Cheese: My Current Kiddie Food Indulgence

Categories: On the Menu

With only a few more months left in my twenties, I'm pretty much an adult now. And while at this point in my life some might say I should be having a child, not eating like one, I still occasionally indulge in certain "kid foods."

Don't worry, I haven't regressed so much that I crave Gerber. Recently, I've really been enjoying Toy Story Macaroni & Cheese, specifically the single-serving microwave tub.

Plain Kraft Macaroni & Cheese certainly isn't anything to write home about: It's usually dry, the "cheese" (re: powder) never fully melts in the pot, and the flavor is anything but cheddar. On any other day I would probably go for Annie's Homegrown or Stouffer's if I had to pick a brand of processed macaroni and cheese.

But somehow those little noodles shaped like Woody and Buzz Lightyear get me every time. (I'm not even the world's biggest fan of the film.) When I have Toy Story Mac & Cheese, I don't care that I'm eating all artificial flavors and ingredients. And I certainly don't act like it. I consume each macaroni shape one by one as if I'm savoring a $50 entrée of handmade farfalle in a white truffle cream sauce, instead of a $1 paper tub of processed pasta.

After eating Toy Story Macaroni & Cheese, I am blissful, slightly nostalgic, and often have a strange urge to haul out my Skip-It.

I can't be the only one who loves this stuff or other kid foods. 'Fess up!
