Pink Prosecco Floats: A Grown Up Dessert

I had a friend over for dinner recently and spent some time contemplating what kind of dessert to serve following a hearty dish of Giada's Spicy Baked Macaroni. Wanting something sophisticated, but easy, I decided to do a nice Prosecco Float. Prosecco Floats are a wonderful way to end your meal, because they are light, sweet, refreshing, and buzz-inducing. There are a million different ways to serve them, but this one happens to be my personal favorite.

The recipe, after the jump.

Pink Prosecco Floats

Serves 4

  • 1 pint Black Cherry or Raspberry Sorbet
  • 1 750-milliliter bottle of dry Prosecco
  • Rose Water

Scoop out equal portions of the sorbet into large wine glasses or dessert cups.

Top with Prosecco.

Shake a few drops of rose water into each cup.

Garnish is key here. You can either add some fresh fruit, which would play up the textural contrast and add more depth of fruit flavor, or you could choose to sprinkle on some edible flowers to emphasize the floweriness of your concoction. Either way, serve the drinks with a spoon and watch them quickly disappear.
