Meals We're Not So Proud Of

Yes, I ate this.
I'm sure all of you out in EOW Readershipland think we bloggers dine with kings on a daily basis. In fact, former blogger Ruthie Johnson said as much this past summer. Sure, there have to be some people who have a standing reservation at REEF and seek out truly authentic Cambodian restaurants every day. Well, I admit it: That's not me. I'm not proud of it, but it's true. In between my culinary explorations, I don't always eat so well.

I had nothing else in the fridge yesterday morning, and I didn't want to have to pay for a lunch out, so here is what I cobbled together to eat at my desk at work: one turkey hot dog, three pieces of honey turkey lunch meat, four pieces of sharp cheddar cheese, two four-day-old hot dog buns, and two chicken-and-apple meatballs that my wife made for our 19-month-old this past weekend.

All right, 'fess up. What are some meals that you weren't so proud of?

A McRib, a Double-Down, AND some Volcano Tacos from Taco Bell!

I noticed not a bite at all was eaten from your plate. Just an observation - did you really eat that? I doubt it.

I did eat it. I just took the picture before I ate it because I realized how ridiculous it looked.

Cold, raw hot dogs and string cheese with cheetos and diet coke got me through my divorce.

Probably the most dismal meal I can think of is eating ramen (and not the good kind) straight out of the package...

I'm not proud of this, but I was so hungry once that I went to McDonald's and bought a McRib and then ate almost all of it.

2 cold hot dogs with mustard and ketchup. That was horrible with the bread and fat mix sticking to the roof of my mouth.

I once broke fast with a delightful combination of cloves, Tom Collins mix, and frozen pie crust.

This morning I ate a hot dog with ketchup and mustard for breakfast and washed it down with a special combo of instant coffee mixed with powdered hot cocoa mix. Not proud. I'm no Meriwether...

Using the tupperware lid as a plate really puts the icing on the cake of this culinary masterpiece.

As for me, I've never in my life prepared a meal for myself that wasn't worth bragging about. Sorry.

Coming at you from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, I am

Sincerely yours,
