Houston's Elusive Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Where can we get one of these?
One of the few downfalls of my cozy hovel of an apartment is the unpredictable and unreliable gas oven. Which is tragic because baked goods, specifically moist, chewy chocolate chip cookies, are among my very favorite foods. Having so far failed to produce satisfactory cookies, I have been forced to look for them at Whole Foods, The Chocolate Bar and Ruggles Bakery.

But all the chocolate cookies I have encountered have been dry, crunchy discs of poor-quality chocolate and bland, over-baked dough. Interestingly, the most enjoyable chocolate chip cookie I have tried in Houston has been Randall's mass-produced jumbo chocolate chunk cookie. Its texture is reasonably soft, and its flavor less artificial than one might imagine from a supermarket baked good -- not high praise, but it's the best I can do.

I'm looking for a moist gooey cookie chock full of chips (or chunks) with slight aftertaste of real butter and salt. It need not be from a mom-and-pop bakery; it need not be gourmet (hold the sea salt please); and it need not be inexpensive. At this point, I'm willing to pay good money for some sizeable, non-dry chocolate chip goodness.

So, Houston aficionados, I need your help. Where's a girl with a non-functioning oven to go for some tastes-like-homemade chocolate chip cookies?
