Attention Top Chef fans! If you were rooting for Texas's own Tiffany Derry this season (even if she lives in Dallas now, you gotta love a girl who came up through IHOP), here's your chance to meet the woman herself, as well as taste her food. Pesce's executive chef, Mark Holley, is teaming up with Derry for a special Top Chef wine dinner on December 2 at the restaurant.

For $125 a person, Holley and Derry will be whipping up a multi-course meal to pair with Dry Creek Vineyards wine, and it's a special night for Derry as well as the guests: She was once Holley's sous chef at Pesce, so it's a return to her roots that both Holley and Derry are equally excited about. If you've been eager to try the high-end, high-concept food at Bootsie's Heritage Cafe but haven't yet made it to Tomball, mark your calendar for December 7. That night, the staff of Bootsie's (and its soon-to-be-opened little sister, restaurant connate) will be hosting a Heritage Dinner at Ralph Smith's photography studio at 5226 Elm in Gulfton. You night owls have a food event of your very own coming up: Jammin' Jerk N' Jamosas Party at Jamaica House on December 4, starting at 10 p.m. and running until 1 a.m. The restaurant will be serving free samples from its menu along with $5 margaritas and $5 Jamosas (flavored mimosas, but flavored with what?) while Joe Lee McCoy performs acoustic soul music (from 8 to 10 p.m.) and DJ Scef spins until the party winds down.
