New York Times: It's not often we lead off the weekly Sampler Plate with something from outside Houston, let alone from NYC. But Patricia Sharpe's (of Texas Monthly) review of Latin Bites Cafe was too hilarious too pass up. Hey, Pat. When you want to see a really "sketchy" part of town, call me and we'll go to Burger Park over in South Park, then maybe make a loop of Sunnyside and Hiram Clarke. You'll love it.

29-95: Chris Reid is back with another made-for-commenting post on Dining Tips to Live By, none of which I can say I disagree with. I would, however, like to add to that list: Don't bring your screaming, squirming children if you've never bothered to be a decent enough parent to teach them how to behave properly in a restaurant. You're the reason Lupe Tortilla exists. Go there.

CultureMap: Along with its new site design, CultureMap also offers tips on how to cook your Thanksgiving turkey thanks to Marci Gilbert's brief but enlightening interview with Tyler Florence, who came through Houston last weekend.

Great Food Houston: Ruthie Johnson takes a look at Jus' Mac, the macaroni and cheese-only joint in the Heights that got all of our commenters riled up a month ago. The fake skillets and plastic silverware annoyed her, but did Johnson dig it overall?

Save Our Food Trucks: Finally, the first of what we hope are many posts from Save Our Food Trucks, a Houston organization comprised of Jay Rascoe, J.R. Cohen and Dan Joyce, men devoted to helping the food truck scene flourish in the Bayou City.
