Chopped and Stewed: Slow Food Tomorrow at Discovery Green

Grab your wicker basket and checkered blanket tomorrow and support Houston's development as a sustainable city. This Saturday, Discovery Green will be buzzing with the Bioneers by day and a Slow Food Picnic Dinner by night.

The Fall Harvest Day in the Park is a free, family-friendly event featuring booths, speeches and interactive games from our local Bioneers, an organization that raises awareness and support for a renewable and environmentally safe community. Other exhibitors taking part in the festival are the Houston Green Scene, Wabash Antique and Feed Store, Houston Electric Cars, Twin Persimmons Farm, Nature Healing Nature, and Blackwood Educational Land Institute.

Following the festival will be a Slow Food Picnic Dinner, hosted by Federico Marques, "The Green Guy," and several innovative Houston restaurants who promote local, organic, and sustainable farmers and gardeners. Picnickers will have the chance to taste top-notch cuisine from Raven Grill, Georgia's Farm to Market, T'afia, Ruggles Green, Bistro Zelko, Beaver's and other eco-conscious eating establishments. To support a greener, cleaner city, purchase your ticket today; reservations are required.
