Taking place on Monday will be the long-awaited Chefs Under Fire competition, in which five area chefs compete for a spot in the state-wide Chefs Under Fire Finals to be held in Austin on October 25. So far, the chefs from Dallas-Ft. Worth and the Austin-San Antonio region have already been chosen. But who will the Houston contestant be? That's for chefs Monica Pope, Jonathan Jones and David Grossman to decide this Monday, October 4, at 7 p.m. Tickets for the action start at $35 and VIP tickets are selling for $75. Get yours now before they sell out!
As mentioned earlier today, another event that will sell out fast is our very own Great Gulf Dinner at The Usual on October 16. Get your $15 ticket now, which buys you a plate full of boiled shrimp, fried fish and all the fixings as well as a drink ticket and an afternoon of live music and fun.
You can gear up for all the fishy fun the weekend before at the 3rd Annual Bayou City Shrimp & Music Festival at Traders Village on October 9 and 10. Two days filled with cold beer and every type of shrimp imaginable (just picture Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump here) starting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. It's completely free to come enjoy the live music, but it's $3 to park and you'll have to pay for that scrumptious shrimp.
