Health Dept. Roundup

City health inspectors appeared to focus mainly on taco trucks last week. Here's the lowdown:

Antojitos Las Catrachas (6026 Dashwood) was closed temporarily after an October 15 visit found six violations, including some paperwork troubles and potentially hazardous foods being stored at an unsafe temperature. The eatery also was not taking measures to minimize rodents and roaches.

Also closed temporarily after an October 13 visit was Taqueria La Finca (11660 Fuqua), where employees did not restrain their hair properly and handled ready-to-eat food without gloves or hand sanitizer. The truck also had paperwork problems and was storing food at an unsafe temperature, among other violations.

Antojitos Las Delicias Guatemala (6375 Skyline) was closed temporarily after an October 13 visit found six violations, including paperwork troubles and some food that was not safe for human consumption, was spoiled, filthy, or was not obtained from an approved source.

An October 11 visit to Tacos Tierra Caliente (5930 Bellaire) left the eatery open but with six violations, including some food not safe for human consumption and some stored at an unsafe temperature.

Taqueria El Rey Del Tacorriendo (3102 Telephone) notched five violations after an October 11 visit found (again) some food not safe for human consumption and some food not stored at a safe temperature.
