Get Your Meat Sculpture

Yes, this is it. Carpe Diem, people. Bacon Kevin Bacon is up for grabs on EBay.

The oversized head, measures 14.25" x 8" x 11.5", comes with a marble base, and bears an odd resemblance to Conan O'Brien. It was commissioned by Justin Esch and Dave Lefkow of J&D Foods, and created by artist Mike Lahue.

The artist had originally planned to work with soft, cooked bacon, but encountered too many problems with decomposition. He found a solution in bacon bits and lots of lacquer - five coats to be exact.

You'd think that after working with bacon day in and day out, he'd be sick of the stuff, but bacon is wicked, witchy stuff. Lahue said he was constantly hungry and quelled his pangs by snacking off of his creation as he worked.

"I ate one whole bottle of bacon bits myself along the way. I'd put a little on the [sculpture's] head and then keep a little mouthful for me here and there. I had never eaten much bacon before this, but I've eaten a lot since. I'm having subconscious cravings!"

All proceeds from the sale of Bacon Kevin Bacon go to Ashley's Team, named for the artist's 4 year-old daughter Ashley, diagnosed with leukemia in 2009.

Although the sellers call this a "once in a lifetime opportunity to own the most delicious piece of Bacon-on-bacon themed pop art ever created," they do make a point to note that contrary to any swirling pork fantasies the name may conjure up in your mind, Bacon Kevin Bacon is not edible.
