With a 2 - 1 victory over North Korea in the World Cup yesterday, Brazilians are partying until the next match against Côte d'Ivoire on Sunday. Celebrations in Brazil usually involve two things: caipirinhas and brigadeiro. Since we've already got the first one covered, we'll leave you with a recipe for the latter (so you can enjoy this candy treat on Sunday, when you're all gathered round your televisions).

Brigadeiro

  • 1 14-ounce can condensed milk

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Large container of chocolate sprinkles
  • Melt the butter in a thick-bottomed saucepan and add the condensed milk. Stir continuously and slowly add the cocoa powder. Continue to stir until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the bottom of the pan - about 10 minutes. Pour into a container and allow the mixture to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Place in the refrigerator for quicker set up. Take a spoon and roll 1 oz. portions into small balls, coat with chocolate sprinkles and enjoy.

Now let's go watch some soccer.
