Sweet Summer Soirée

• One giant heaping of dog rescue efforts
• 40 hungry people
• Lots of desserts made by Pastry Chef Rebecca Masson
• A little bit of cheese
• Maybe a salad
• Some champagne
• A couple cocktails

Combine all thoroughly on Sunday, June 6, at Ralph Smith Photography studios for a sweet time.

To benefit Lucky Dog Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing foster care and adoptive placement services for stray and abandoned dogs, many dog and food lovers alike have put lots of tender loving care into the Sweet Summer Soirée event scheduled for this Sunday.

On the menu: a salad course by Chef Tracie Hartman (formerly of Auberge Resorts), a cheese course presented by our favorite local cheesemongers, the Houston Dairy Maids, and some incredible desserts from the Mushroom Throwdown winner Rebecca Masson. She'll be serving the award-winning entry from the throwdown - Candy Cap Mushroom Ice Box Pie -- as well as her Maple Leaf Ice Cream Sandwich, Chocolate Beet Cake Baked Alaska with Homemade Strawberry Sour Cream Ice Cream and Italian Meringue ,and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter "Candy Bar."

While the event is officially sold out, you can be added to the waiting list in case a spot opens up. If all else fails, we've heard rumors Masson has a dessert restaurant in the works for the near future, where you may be able to taste that much-hyped mushroom treat.
