Of course you do. So do we.
One of summer's sweetest berries will be celebrated this weekend at the annual Pasadena Strawberry Festival, now in its 37th year. If you've never been before, you can look forward to an old-fashioned, small-town festival on steroids -- and we mean that in the best possible way. There's a beauty pageant, mutton bustin', pig racing, washer pitching, a cookoff and, of course, all the strawberries you can eat.

The Pasadena Strawberry Festival kicks off on Friday, May 14, at 3 p.m. and runs until midnight. Saturday runs from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday runs from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door or $5 for children and seniors. It's supposed to get rainy this weekend, so bring an umbrella or two if you head out.

Also on this weekend's agenda (come rain or shine) is the annual Great Taste of the Heights on Saturday, May 15. Enjoy live music, beer, wine and margaritas while you sample food from more than 20 of the Heights' best restaurants. The event runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. (although the bar will stay open until 10 p.m.) Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online or at the door.

Don't play golf? That's okay -- there isn't room for any more golfing teams at the first-ever My Table Golf Tournament anyway. But there is room for you to come hang out at the 19th Hole Party on Monday, June 7, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and enjoy food, wine, cocktails and a silent auction geared specifically towards food lovers at the tournament. One of the most coveted auction items so far? An "instant wine cellar" that comes with more than 85 bottles of the good stuff. Tickets are $75 and go to support a scholarship endowment at the University of Houston's Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Think you make the meanest pot of chili around? Put your skils to the test at the Harris County Darts Association (HCDA) First Annual Chili Cookoff on May 22. Teams are forming now, but you only have until May 15 to sign up. Don't want to cook? You can come out to the West Alabama Ice House on May 22 starting at noon and taste all the chilis for only $5. Prizes will be awarded to Best Texas Chili (no beans!), Best Creative Chili and People's Choice. And remember to pack those Tums.
