$7 at SunMart #139
Where: SunMart Mobil Station, 3200 Holcombe Blvd, Houston 77021
What $7 gets you: A tasty and cheap dinner, Fanta, and a pack of Tums. We stopped at SunMart Mobil to get gas, and stopped in for a drink and to pay. It smelled awesome inside, and our evening plans to get a salad were squashed. We picked up a 2 piece leg and thigh ($1.39), an order of fries ($1.59), a soft drink and a pack of gum for a few cents under our budget.
We aren't afraid of gas station food (we've only gotten food poisoning from well known restaurants), and we were rewarded. The chicken, even though it was heat lamp-ed, was crispy, spicy, and without huge chunks of gelatinous fat. The fries were large wedges that were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Oh, we
were in grease heaven.
Recommended: Not for everyday, but yea. We secretly love gas station chicken. Now, about those Tums...
