Houston Coffee Scene: Grizzaffi Coffee
Nick Grizzaffi, owner and operator Grizzaffi Coffee at Discovery Green Park downtown, has a work ethic unmatched in the city. Starting out with a catering-size espresso machine, he's proven to be an asset of reliability for the park, garnering the attention of city planning officials and Discovery management. Beginning this summer, Grizzaffi will become a permanent fixture of the market tents along the walking trail of the park. 
Grizzaff will be offering seasonal snacks obtained from local markets; he also makes mean hot chocolate.
This is not his first venture. Part barista, part baker, Grizzaff has been active in the culinary world for 10 years. He's made Discovery Green Park his home base for his mobile catering operations, but he can scheduled for events and parties of all kinds. He offers a variety of teas, cold cut sandwiches and, of course, a full espresso bar. During the summer, he will be offering seasonal market smoothies made with the best fruits he can find.
If you can't wait for the summer to give Nick a shot -- or have him give you one -- he will be doing a soft opening beginning March 8. His hours of operation prior to a full summer schedule will be Saturdays through Wednesdays, from dawn to dusk.
