Tasting Beer: Samuel Smith's Lager

American microbrewed beer may be the passion of many a beer knurd here in Houston, but we recently geeked out sampling English microbrewery Samuel Smith. We'd been fans but had failed to experience its version of a lager until now. 
Medium hoppiness and light body make this a refreshing brew, and we really enjoyed the clarity in the hops. A slight citrus taste reminiscent of lemon peel showed up on the tip of our tongue. This lager comes off clean. We suggest drinking it with some fresh fish, such as salmon. If you are out and about, Sam Smith Lager Beer is available at Agora Café on the corner of Westheimer and Dunlavy.
