Urban Harvest's 10th Annual Fruit Tree Sale
I had a hard time choosing between kumquat, grapefruit and Meyer lemon when I decided to plant a citrus tree last month. I guess I should have taken a class or something.

Houston is a great place to grow citrus trees, and this week is a great time to plant one. Tomorrow (Tuesday) Urban Harvest will offer two classes on planting and caring for fruit trees, at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., at United Way, 50 Waugh Street.
The classes are designed for folks who are planning to buy a tree this Saturday at Urban Harvest's 10th Annual Fruit Tree Sale, which will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Rice University Stadium. It's the organization's big fundraiser of the year. Urban Harvest is one of several non-profit organizations that promote community gardening in Houston. The gardens provide a place to grow things for people who don't have a backyard. They also provide organic vegetables to charities and local food banks.
