Goodbye, Roll'n

We recently dropped into the Roll'n for a shot and a beer -- a Miller High Life, to be exact -- and found out that they are closing this weekend. That's it. No more dive bar on San Felipe. After 41 years, the "old man" is finally giving up the Roll'n due to lease increases. I have had the privilege of taking many a shot at this bar. I am really sad to see this place fall victim to "progress."

This is the same old guy who owns the Lone Star Saloon. What's next, Warrens? Before you know it, all the bars in Houston will serve fruity beers and state law will require you to hold your pinky out when you drink them. God save the dive bars!
