Garden slugs, green activists and organic food lovers will gather for cocktails from five to seven p.m. tomorrow night at Last Concert Café at a mixer sponsored by Houston Green Scene. Drinks will be followed by a dinner to benefit Last Organic Outpost's community gardening efforts.

The Living Off the Land Dinner series is held the third Friday of every month at Last Concert. The guest chefs are farmers, and the menu features organic vegetables grown locally. This week's menu from the folks at Emile Street Community Garden includes a spinach salad, a winter stew with kale, sweet potatoes and homemade sausage, roasted beets and carrots with blood orange and fennel dressing, rosemary tomato scones, and chile-chocolate cupcakes.

The Houston Green Scene mixer is free, and the Living Off the Land dinner is $20. Your donation goes to buy more seeds and dirt. To RSVP, call 713-931-6100.
