Bartender Chat - Cheri McCann of Shiloh Club
The prevailing wisdom on Shiloh Club (1321 Studewood St.): It's a hole-in-the-wall bar where regulars drink Bud Light like water and wouldn't dream of ordering liquor - certainly not the Bubble Gum Vodka special being advertised the other night. Would they? A casual conversation with Cheri McCann led us to discover a hidden treasure, the Shiloh Club Bloody Mary. 
McCann has been working at The Shiloh Club for two-and-a-half years. She went from a bar regular to a bartender, leaving The Glass Wall for The Shiloh Club so that she could spend more time with her daughter. You usually can find McCann working days at The Shiloh Club, which opens at 10 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon on Sundays.
As she mixed our Bloody Marys with habañero pickled green beans, McCann told us about the new things happening at The Shiloh Club. There are now drink specials during the week, and industry night is Tuesdays. And the specials aren't just on Bud Light. The Shiloh Club has a full bar.
The Blood Mary isn't new, though. Every week, McCann makes homemade green beans with habañeros for the Bloody Marys. She actually prefers these to the Cajun Chef beans that are also available. McCann told us to come back on Sunday, when we could make our own Bloody Marys for $3.50 or $4.50 depending on our choice of vodka.
Jeans, a hoodie, and a spicy Bloody Mary - sounds like a great way to end the weekend.
