The Wynk: Melissa concocts a dish she calls "Tasty Chicken" out of leftovers in her fridge, and ends up with a recipe too delicious not to share with the world at large. We thank her (and will be making some soon!).

Chili Bob's Houston Eats: With one of the few food blogs around town that's updated consistently (we're all on Twitter all the time now, apparently), Chili Bob stumbled across a gaggle of Guatemalan food trucks on Hillcroft that are begging to be plundered by hungry food lovers.

Coffee Corner: Pork is indeed the meat of kings! We were lucky enough to try some of Mike's rilletes and we can vouch for the fact that they were perfectly unctuous, creamy, meaty pots of pure joy. And apparently easy enough to make at home!

Feed the Heights: The Heights blog makes its way slightly out of bounds to try Stanton's City Bites for the first time. Did the burger joint disappoint? Of course not -- it's Stanton's, after all.

Barley Vine: A black IPA? We're intrigued, and so was Ted at Barley Vine, who recently ran across a black IPA called Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale. And after his alluring description, we are determined to hunt it down and try it ourselves.

Orchard Chronicles: Morgan takes the subject of foie gras (which we briefly touched upon this week) and expands gracefully on the topic. Is gauvage controversial enough that foie gras should simply be banned once and for all?

And on the national scene...

Gluten Free Girl: Our favorite gluten-free blogger demonstrates with lovely photos how to make a gluten-free pie crust for your Thanksgiving desserts that tastes every crumb as good as the original version.

Culinography: Not a baker? No matter. Just mix up some festive pumpkin pie martinis to impress your guests at Thanksgiving (these are way better than the ham daiquiris from last week, trust us).

Creamy, Gooey, Sticky, Chewy: Susan shares her best tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes from years past, including Apple-Maple Acorn Squash Puree, Oyster Stuffing and Pumpkin-Gingerbread Trifle.

Word of Mouth: Across the pond, where they're still blissfully unaware of music outside of S Club 7 and Robbie Williams, the Guardian's food blog throws a hissy fit about Americans' supposed obsession with cinnamon. Well, she did visit during the holidays, after all...
