Taco Truck Gourmet: Sabrosita

sabrosos.jpg
This huevos con chorizo taco was a little a pricey at $1.75 -- it was also a little too salty, but the spice level of the chorizo was excellent. I got a topping of red salsa, onions and cilantro. I also sampled three homemade tamales, one with a spicy pork filling and two with a mild chicken filling. All three tamales were outstanding, though expensive at a buck each.

The Sabrosita taco trailer is parked at the intersection of Fondren and Wanda. It's a mom-and-pop operation; the couple behind the counter is from Guerrero. The menu includes sopes, tortas and quesadillas; for fillings there's carnitas, pastor and "BBQ." There is intriguing sign on the side of the truck advertising "rico nachos." I wonder how a cook from Guerrero does Tex-Mex nachos?
