sticking with the custard, instead of Frito Pie, at "Ritter's Frozen Custard" sounds like a good idea, LOL

i have to agree w/TBB. it's like going to a mexican restaurant, ordering a cheeseburger and complaining that it tasted like crap. well, that's what you get for ordering that type of food at such an establishment.

I think you were in a bad mood when you ate there, sorry but you can always tell them what you want on your dog. Just a thought! Also I think they were totally left off the best Ice Cream List. Maybe try back when you are in a better mood. Or maybe stick to southern food since the northern concept just isn't your thing.

Well the last time I had the hot dog there, I had to go back for a second. Maybe an off day, cause I can't get enough of either. YUM!

..and by the way, the pictures above hurt your cause Robb. They are making me consider a drive over tonight!

Well, if it hadn't been for slk making that comment, I wouldn't say this, but seriously, what are you talking about when you say:

Honey, the cheese is yellow, the onions are white, the jalapenos are just so, the rest I can't see. That's why the picture is better than the pen.

You're right-the white stuff is onions, not cheese. But it was still a terrible Frito pie.

Please, I'll look ever more happily upon Dairy Queen after seeing these pics. How can you mess up food so badly when the ingredients are so fail-proof? Leave it to Ritter's...

I am a big fan of there dogs. In fact when everybody else is cutting back on portions ie steak places its nice to see they arent shy to add the ingredients

I'm no gourmet, and my taste may be in my toes, but I really like the venison chili frito pie at Goode Company Armadillo restaurant on Kirby Drive.

I thought the same thing at James Coney Island. How could they mess up a Frito pie? Next to hot dogs, it's what they do! But...yeah. Terrible stuff.

Gosh, I was just there for lunch on Tuesday, and had an awesome Chili/Cheese dog. I like that they use good hot dogs, fresh buns and real, grated cheese, not that melted cheese goo some places do. The frozen custard was excellent, too.

Made me wish we had a Ritters up here in Cypress, so I wouldn't have to go all the way to Katy. Yummm...
