Snackshot: The Lone Star State

Categories: Booze, Snackshot

This week's old school Snackshot comes to us courtesy of Samantha Bales and the good folks at Lone Star Beer.

From the photographer's description:

"peace. love. & lone star."

Although Lone Star is marketed as "The National Beer of Texas," it's no longer brewed or bottled exclusively in the Lone Star State. The Lone Star Brewery was founded in San Antonio by none other than Adolphus Busch (yes, that Busch) in 1884, but didn't actually begin producing Lone Star beer until 1940. The brand was eventually bought out by Pabst -- a Milwaukee-based beer company -- in 1999 and is no longer brewed in San Antonio, but in various Miller Brewing Company locations nationwide.

Remember to submit your own photos (of food or anything else) to the Houston Press Flickr Pool. We'll choose our favorite food photo each Monday to be featured here on Eating Our Words.
