Smashburgers are "one hundred percent Angus." They're "smashed on the grill to sear the meat and seal in the flavor." From personal experience they are also a bit of a delicious mess to eat, thanks to the glob of cheese and substantial amount of condiments on top.
Each Smashburger will open on a Wednesday later this month.
A second will open July 22 in the Energy Corridor at 1635 Eldridge (Eldridge and Briar Forest).
And a third, located at 5520 Buffalo Speedway (Buffalo Speedway and Bissonnet) in the West University area, will open July 29.
The 1,850-square-foot Westheimer location seats 55 diners -- 30 in the patio area, where diners are urged to pair their burgers with wine or beer.
