Anyone who thinks tacos and pan-fried dumplings aren't stoner food has never eaten with stoners.

Yes, tacos and dumplings could be fun.

But what you see on his TV show is BC Bud material.

Triple fried onion rings, cheese fries that are out of this world, yada, yada, yada.

This Houston food is just good food. Not nearly freaky enough for TV.

Is the flan at Ninfa's Navigation still good? They've screwed everything else up since they got a "chef." The old cooks were just fine.

Jay, you've got several of my favorites, not surprisingly. That's good the photo from Tampico includes shrimp with the snapper a la plancha. It's best to add the shrimp with that dish.

Thanks for the tip about the firepot at Sichuan and the puffy tacos at Los Tios.
It's been about a year or so since I've been to Sichuan, and possibly college-age with Los Tios. I'll give one a visit based on the tip about that San Antonio-favorite.

We had the best time with Guy and crew at the Red Lion Pub (btw - that place is great)... Hope they make it back down here soon!

stop hating on Guy. He's a BAMF. Just because we can't dress how we want, be on TV and eat for a living is no good reason to disparage the man. As for food, why in God's name would anyone take Guy Fieri or anyone else to Los Tios? If you had one day and one Tex-Mex place in Houston to use to impress, certainly you could find a better representation than this. If you think I am wrong, walk into in Los Tios and see who is missing from the patronage - Mexicans, who ought to know a thing or two about good Mexican food. We don't eat there.
