Update: Snot What You Thought

Categories: Leftovers

After highlighting a local man's discovery of what appeared to be a giant loogie in his can of green tea, the tea company has responded with an apology and an explanation.

According to Steaz co-founder Eric Schnell, who personally responded to the complaint, the gruesome substance was actually undissolved lemon juice concentrate and it marks the first time in six years that this problem has occurred.  As a result, they are recalling the 1% of product that was affected by this production issue.  Over the next two weeks, the green tea that was canned during that production run will be removed from their warehouse and from store shelves.

As for the man whose green tea break was slightly marred by the whole experience, Steaz sent him some additional product samples and a T-shirt.  I'm sure it doesn't have my preferred slogan on it -- "I found a loogie in my tea and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" -- but a girl can dream.
