Filling in the final blank on its dance card, the Alley Theatre announces today that the seventh play it will present next season will be George Gershwin Alone with Hershey Felder as the man who wrote all those amazing songs.

According to the Alley's press release:

The show includes songs by the creator of An American in Paris such as, "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Summertime," and "I Got Rhythm" - it's a tribute to the American song book and to an extraordinary American character. Rave reviews include: "Furiously dramatic" (The New York Times), "dazzling...sheer genius" (NY Daily News) and "glorious and fascinating" (USA Today).

Also, the run dates for two of the Alley's shows have been changed.

Shakespeare's As You Like It will now start previews on January 30 with opening night on February 4, and the final performance on February 22, 2015.

And The Foreigner by Larry Shue will now start previews on July 3, opens July 8, and run through August 9, 2015.

Check out our previous announcement on the season which will take place at the University of Houston while the Alley undergoes a much-needed renovation.
