Now imagine a fashion truck...
Downtown Houston is the destination for evening and weekend events, but lately it has become the spot for weekday excursions as well.

A new addition to the growing list of attractions filling up lunch schedules comes courtesy of Greenstreet - formerly Houston Pavilions. The three-block "shopping, dining and entertainment destination" will now play hosts to fashion trucks as part of their weekday events calendar.

"GreenStreet is always looking to elevate the experience of our visitors and shoppers. The addition of these fashion trucks is a great complement to what we currently offer and we encourage everyone to stop by on their lunch break and enjoy a fun and unique shopping experience in downtown," says GreenStreet marketing coordinator Courtney Ray.

Beginning Wednesday, April 9 from 11 a.m until 2 p.m, fashion trucks will take over the ForeverXXI entrance just off Main between Dallas and Polk. Each Wednesday through Friday one truck will be featured daily, with new trucks joining the ranks weekly so visitors can look forward to fresh finds.

The first round of trucks include French style boutique Basiques on Wednesday, April 9, one stop shoe shop Shoe Bar on Thursday, April 10 and runway to real life emporium Park Boutique on Friday, April 11.

Being that food trucks have all but taken over City Halls farmers market, it is no surprise that fashion trucks are sashaying their way Downtown as well. Now professionals working in the Skyline District can emerge from those dark tunnels to enjoy food and fashion in the sunlight. A good dose of Vitamin D (and Vitamin C-ute Shoes) couldn't hurt.

Is this a sign that mobile retail is finally getting a real foothold in the Houston retail market? I hope so!
