WOW: "Please Help Us Petition the White House to Begin Building a Death Star"
Since everyone it seems discovered a few months ago that you can petition the White House to do stupid things, nearly every week there has been a new oddball petition on the WH Web site. 
Today comes the petition to get President Barack Obama and the White House to "secure funding and resources, and begin construction on a Death Star by 2016." That's right, some of your fellow Americans want the President, besieged by school shootings, economic peril and Middle East mayhem, to begin building a space station capable of destroying planets.
Fox News already brought forth an idea to amend the Constitution so that Americans can have the right to bear light sabers. Maybe if teachers have light sabers in the schools, our kids can feel safe once again.
Since the petition was brought forth in mid-November, it has received nearly 31,000 online signatures. From the WH petition site, We the People:

We the People provides a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country. We created We the People because we want to hear from you. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it's sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.
Hopefully the Death Star's funding will not get diverted to other things like Earthbound defense spending.
