Cover Story: The Winners of the 2012 MasterMind Awards Are...
A museum, a filmmaker and a pair of chefs -- profiled in this week's cover story -- are the winners of the 2012 Houston Press MasterMind Awards, which hook up cutting-edge organizations and individuals with a no-strings-attached, $2,000 check.
Now in its fourth year, the MasterMind Awards recognizes creative Houstonians for their output and gifts them some funds as they attempt to take the next step in their careers. As in years past, the winners were determined from submitted applications as well as an in-house review panel.
The 2012 MasterMinds will be honored with a plaque and the moolah during the Houston Press Artopia Party on Saturday, January 28 at Winter Street Studios, 2101 Winter Street.
By the way, Connor Barwin posted up at last week's Artopia Preview Party. Who knows what other hot shots will be in the house on Saturday!
This week's feature also recaps what the 2011 MasterMinds (Foodways Texas, Catastropic Theatre and Nameless Sound) have accomplished in the past year.
