The folks at Architecture Center Houston are busy assembling more than 100 photographs encompassing 175 years of the city's architecture for its portion of the official terquasquicentennial celebration. According to a release, the photos will be organized into ten "clusters": First (early history), Sacred, Civic, Shelter, Beautiful, Culture, Modern, Tall, Shop and Exotic.
The exhibition is the first of ten official events organized with the help of Mayor Annise Parker and her staff that will take place this fall. The opening reception for the ArCH exhibit takes place August 25 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., but if you just can't wait, we've rustled up a few photos (courtesy of AIA Houston) to whet your appetite.
