Nine modern homes of all sizes will be featured on this year's home tour of the Houston chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The tour, which takes place in October, is one of the organization's largest events, encompassing two days, 200 volunteers and cooperation from homeowners, architects and the community, according to a release. The homes, designed by local architects and firms, were chosen by a jury.

Home sizes range from the 6,000-square-foot 9° House designed by Interloop-Architecture to the shoebox-sized (540 square feet) 806 Fisher Street designed by Donna Kacmar, FAIA.

The tour, which is going into its 25th year, takes place October 22 and 23 and costs $25 ($20 if you ride your bike). For information, visit
