Bollywood, Philanthropy Honored at Indian Film Festival Awards

Acclaimed Indian Directors and TV stars were in Houston last night for the 2nd Annual Indian Film Festival of Houston. Guests at the award ceremony held at the Royal Oaks Country Club donned their best Indian Chic attire, and were entertained by the eclectic sounds of Moodafaruka. Director Vikramaditya Motwane won Best Feature for UDAAN, and director Dilip Mehta won the Special Recognition Award for Cooking with Stella. The festival also awarded its first Philantrophy Award to Dr. Carolyn Farb. Indian hearthrob and TV star Iqbal Khan was the Master of Ceremonies. The award night marked the end of the five-day festival celebrating Indian culture and talent.
